Medic students have oral sex outside lecture hall

Two medical students were caught performing a sex act outside a hospital lecture.

A shocked nurse spotted them on a sofa as they waited for their class and rushed off to report them.

The trainee doctors on a study visit from a nearby university vanished before security staff arrived.

Dr Chris Stephens, Associate Dean of Medicine at the University of Southampton, has sent a "friendly warning" email urging students to be professional, especially at the city's General Hospital.

He wrote: "A couple of second-year students (male and a female) were getting frisky.

"If you want to perform oral sex I am sure you could find a more comfortable place, off NHS property!"

One student said: "Everyone's trying to find out who did what to whom, but nobody will admit anything."

Staff trawled CCTV film but could not spot the culprits.

Prof Iain Cameron, Dean of the university Faculty of Medicine, said: "We take allegations of misconduct seriously."
