100yr old woman gets stripper for birthday

Clare Ormiston got up close and personal with a male stripper to celebrate a special milestone in her life - her 100th birthday.

And it came as no surprise to the new centenarian who had looked forward to the scantily-clad treat since specifically requesting it back in June.

Clares large family, extending over four generations, and fellow residents at Glenfield Residential Home in Wythall, Birmingham in the UK, also lapped up the entertainment during the celebrations on Friday.

"I enjoyed that," Clare admitted. "It definitely put a smile on my face."

Matron Barbara Hancock organised the bash as part of a programme she runs at the home to make sure residents get the birthday wish they want, but also one that will reinvigorate the recipient.

Barbara said the idea was put to her by Clare during a bedside conversation about her birthday which had also involved some of Clares close relatives.

"I said to her Well have a nice big cake and what about a little classical music quartet?," Barbara said.

"She paused for a bit and then said What about a stripper?"

"Her daughter said Oh mother and nearly fell off the bed while her son-in-law burst out laughing."

"She then said, You think Im old dont you, but Im just coming out."

Clare, who has three children, three grandchildren and two great- grandchildren, was born and bred in Birmingham and in her younger days worked as a secretary at Salts Healthcare Ltd in the city centre.
