Hotel worker quits job in blare of fanfare
US hotel worker Joey De Francesco had long fantasised about really sticking it to his boss when he quit.It went something like this: He would walk up to his boss, hand over his letter of resignation, and a brass band would strike up to celebrate the moment.

A video of how he turned this fantasy into reality has since gone viral on YouTube with more than a million hits and attracted interest from several TV stations.
Just like his dream, the video shows De Francesco, 23, turning up at the hotel one evening with a 19-piece brass band in tow, before handing his letter to a very unimpressed-looking manager and walking out to a fanfare of trumpeting horns and trombones.
"I thought it would just embarrass but now it's all over the world and it's insane," he told the Huffington Post.
He claims the relationship with his employers at the Renaissance Providence Hotel in Rhode Island was tense, saying: "I hated them, and they hated me."

"It was this big drawn-out war we were having with management... I knew I had to get one last shot at them."
While some YouTube viewers have dubbedDe Francesco a fool, most people have congratulated him for his efforts.
One user posted: "Joey is a hero to those who have wanted to quit like this but don't have the guts."
A general manager at the hotel, Angelo De Peri, confirmed that De Francesco did resign in late August.
But, in response toDe Francesco's claims that he and others weren't treated well, De Peri told the Huffington Post: "We take the hea! lth and satisfaction of our employees very seriously, and creating a sense of community and pride within the hotel is a top priority for us."
As for the video star, he's already found another job.
