World's shortest cat

World's shortest cat

Fizz Girl measures a measly six inches from shoulders to ground, compared to the average cat's ten inches.

The two-year-old is a Munchkin, a breed that is known for abnormally short legs that are often bowed.

The Guinness World Records has now pronounced Fizz as officially the shortest of the entire feline family.

Owner Tiffani Kjeldergaard said: "When Guinness World Records told me that I had the shortest cat I was absolutely ecstatic.

"When I took her to the vet's office to have him do the measurement he'd never seen an animal this small in his entire life."

Tiffani, from San Diego, USA, said: "She knows that she's short but she has no problem climbing and getting to the highest places in the house.

"She has no short end of the stick so to speak."

"Most cats do, but she really likes to have things her way.

"She'll come and sit on my lap, she's not real happy about it but she'll do it.

"And when I have something to eat she's right in my lap. So it's all on her terms."
