Man who freezed dead aunt for pension

Austrian police have arrested a man who confessed to keeping the dead body of his 88-year old aunt in the freezer to claim her pension and benefits payments.

The 47-year-old unemployed nephew kept his aunt's corpse for several months in order to continue getting the money, police said on Tuesday, AFP reported.

The man who lived in the northern village of Neuhofen an der Ybbs told investigators that he had "agreed" to do so with his aunt before she died in June, police said.

He also claimed that his aunt died from natural causes, but public has ordered an autopsy and detained him after discovering the body on Monday.
