'Devils' sexually assault Sri Lankans

Grease devils are creating panic in Sri Lanka by sexually assaulting women at night.

They bite womens necks and breasts.

Three people have already died, reported Reuters.

Grease devils are thieves who wear only underwear and smear their bodies in grease, to avoid capture.

At least 30 incidents have been reported while 47 people have been arrested.

Police spokesman Prashantha Jayakody said some people with "mental disorders" were posing as grease devils:"In one instance, a person was arrested wearing more than 20 (pairs of) women's undergarments."

Some people took justice into their own hands by capturing and lynching a suspected grease devil.

These vigilantes were arrested and taken to the police station, where an angry crowd gathered to demand their release.

Police said they fired tear gas to disperse the crowd.

In another town, police said two men whom villagers identified as "grease devils" were hacked to death.
