Granny bludgeoned to death in house in Perak

A senior citizen was found dead, believed to have been bludgeoned by a robber who broke into her house in Tanjung Piandang near Parit Buntar, about 160km from Ipoh, early Saturday.

Perak CID chief Datuk Dzuraidi Ibrahim said the body of Teoh Ah Nya@Teoh Kooi Lan, 73, was found by her brother at about 1.30am.He said initial investigation revealed that the house was ransacked and the back door broken.Jewellery worth RM6,000 and cash of RM1,000 were found missing from the house.However, Dzuraidi said police believed the case was solved with the arrest of a Myanmar man at about 2.50am not far from the scene.The 25-year-old suspect has been remanded for five days to facilitate in the investigation.Source: Bernama
