Woman's giant amputated leg grows back
She had a rare 'Elephant Man' Type disease that could kill her...
Mandy Sellars from the United Kingdom had two enormous 32 kg legs
The 36-year old had one of them amputated, in order to survive.
But much to her dismay, its now growing back only 22 months after the operation.
The 19kg stump has a circumference of over 1 metre.
The 36-year-old told the Mirror:
I hoped the amputation would stabilise my condition but I think I knew in my heart that it would start growing again."
"Almost straight away the stump began increasing in circumference and I was finding it harder to fit it into my prosthetic leg."
"Then the stump got so heavy that it broke the prosthetic leg."
Five years ago, she told ITV's This Morning show about the humiliataion of living with this condition.
"Adults can be very hurtful. In a restaurant one blurted out, 'look at the size of those feet.' I don't mind children staring, but adults should know better."
Sellars was been forced to leave her job at the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, but is still keeping positive.
She told the Mirror:
"I will not let this thing beat me. I'm determined to stay as mobile as possible and fight for my independence."
"I just have to live day to day, week to week. I have got a life and I have to live it as best as I can. There are people far worse off than me."
