Ayala had sexual intercourse with the 33-year-old victim while she was under the influence of 'an intoxicating substance, an 'anesthetic substance' and a 'controlled substance'A hospital worker in California, US, has been charged with sexually assaulting a sedated patient in a hospital emergency room.

Authorities said the accused, Francisco Ayala, 27, was working as a patient care technician at St Joseph Hospital's emergency room when he was asked to keep an eye on the patient during the early hours of March 9.

According to a felony complaint, Ayala had sexual intercourse with the 33-year-old victim while she was under the influence of "an intoxicating substance, an anesthetic substance and a controlled substance."

Ayala, who no longer works for the hospital, was taken into custody in lieu of $100,000 (RM305,349) bail on a range of charges including rape and sodomy.
