Britian's Prince William and Kate Middleton walk to meet youngsters from a local soccer club at Witton County Park, Darwen, England Monday.Beaming Kate Middleton steps out looking slimmer than ever Monday - as she admitted she was suffering from pre-wedding jitters.The royal-to-be, 29, wowed crowds with her sleeker frame as she and Prince William made their final public appearance together before their big day.They had travelled to Darwen, Lancs, to open a school before heading to visit a sports pavilion in nearby Blackburn.And Kate's look seemed the clearest sign yet that, like many brides, she is slimming down in time for her wedding photos.Onlooker Sue Blair, 32, said: "She is very, very beautiful but it's clear she has lost weight."I can't really blame her - I didn't eat bread for six weeks before my wedding day."Amanda Wood, 46, also in the crowd, asked Kate if she had any last-minute nerves.The princess-in-waiting replied: "Yes, of course I am."But romantic Wills, 28, did his best to set his beloved's fears to rest with a moving tribute in a speech to open the Darwen Aldridge Community Academy.He told the audience: "I know that I am very fortunate. I have the support of my family and friends, I do a job I enjoy - and I have Catherine."Hundreds of well-wishers had braved a heavy downpour for the visit - for which Kate wore a tailored blue suit which matched her sapphire engagement ring.After visiting the new school, where they saw pupils in their classes, the couple headed to Witton Country Park sports ground.
There Kate waved a flag to start a 100metre sprint - then stepped back smartly as the competitors raced towards her.Yesterday's trip was the fourth in a series of day-long visits that has also taken the pair to Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.Palace aides - keen to give Kate a taste of Royal life - say they are delighted with h! ow well the public has taken to her.The next time Kate is seen at an official event she will be in a vintage Rolls-Royce heading to Westminster Abbey on April 29.
