Racing dog trainer Fowler fed his greyhound viagra

A racing dog was fed viagra to ensure its winning.

Trainer Anthony Fowler gave the greyhound the sex drug before betting on the dog.To ensure the dog would have long odds, the 61-year-old sometimes fed it boiled cannabis to slow him down.

John Ellwood, prosecuting for the RSPCA, said: "He fed his greyhounds cannabis when he wanted them to lose."Fowler also injected dogs with the steroid nandrolone when he wanted dogs to win.

Nandrolone is a testosterone derivative.

Viagra can inflame a dog's blood vessels while cannabis can cause hallucinations and convulsions.

He will be sentenced on July 26.
