The gang's activities at a rented house in Kottaipalayam in the textile city of Coimbatore, were exposed after police arrested a 37-year-old kingpin and two pimps.
"We had planned to conduct surprise raids at various places in the district. Our police team was watching the sex racket's activities," the Times of India quoted E.S. Uma, Coimbatore district superintendent of police, as saying.
Police did not reveal the identity of the actress but said all transactions from appointments to clients' payments were done online.
The ring leader's wife, also a key operator of the clandestine business disguised as an escort service agency, was in hiding, said local police.
