Epic supercars pile-up on Japan highway
It was a convoy gone wrong.
One miscalculated move from a Ferrari that led the convoy turned his league of sports car connoiseurs into a mangled heap of Italian and German metal along 400m of the Chugoku Expressway in Shimonoseki, Yamaguchi Prefecture.
Mail Online reports that the 60-year-old leader of the pack lost control of his vehicle while trying to overtake a car, and hit a guardrail. The trailing cars, involving eight Ferraris (two Ferrari F430s, two Ferrari 360 Modenas, two Ferrari F355s) and a Lamborghini Diablo, then began the domino effects of crashing into one another.
Police officers investigate damaged Ferraris at the crash site.
Also involved in the epic crash estimated at 300mil (RM12mil) was a Nissan Skyline GT-R, two Mercedes Benz and a Toyota Prius.
No one was seriously injured in the accident.
The carnage caused the highway to be closed for six hours to allow emergency services to clean up the mess.
