Man finds and returns bag with RM49,300
An American man has returned a bag containing more than US$17,000 (RM49,300) in cash. The bag of money was found by Robert Adams, who chanced upon it near an ATM machine, reports the Daily Herald.
"I see this plastic bag," said Adams. "It's clear plastic, and it's half full of money.
"I figure this is a joke - somebody took some napkins and made it look like money. This has to be a setup. People are going to look at me and start laughing."
The bag held mostly $20 and $100 bills. Adams took the bag and walked into the nearby bank to hand it in, but rang police after employees told him the money was not theirs.
Adams said: "It's not my money. I shouldn't take it. I don't care if you put another zero on there - I wasn't raised to take money that isn't mine."
The police eventually determined that the money belonged to armoured truck company Loomis.
Loomis has not given Adams a reward yet.
