Millionaire dog Trouble dies

Trouble, the dog that inherited US$12mil (RM36.3mil) from his owner, has died.

He was 12, equivalent to 84 years of human age.

Leona Helmsley, the widow of Harry Helmsley and helped run their hotel and real estate empire, died in 2007 at 87.

She gave her Maltese US$12mil but a judge later trimmed Trouble's bequest to US$2mil (RM6.05mil).

The Helmsley family trust said last week that Trouble had died on Dec 13, last year and was cremated.

Its spokesperson Eileen Sullivan, however, would not say how much was left of Trouble's money but what remained went into a charitable trust.

TMZ
reported that Trouble's allowance was US$8,000 (RM24,198) a year for grooming and US$1,200 (RM3,630) for food.

And - in response to dozens of death threats against the dog - a full-time security guard.
