A formerschool teacher in Singaporewho had sex with a 15-year-old female student was sentenced to 10 months' jail on Friday.The 25-year-old pleaded guilty to one count of sexual penetration of a minor at her home in Woodlands on May 20 last year.He is not being named to protect the identity of the girl, now 16A district court heard that early last year, the accused, who was the victim's co-form teacher, exchanged contact details with the girl who was asked to get a letter from her parent to explain why she had not turned up in school for a few days.They went for a movie in March 2010 and entered into a secret romantic relationship. About two months later, he went to her home and had sex with her. They ended their relationship in June last year.The accused, who had a second charge considered, was given two weeks to settle his affairs before going to jail. He could have been jailed for up to 10 years and/or fined.Source: Straits Times
