Teen charged over theft of women's undies

An 18-year-old was charged on Friday for climbing into his neighbours' apartments and stealing women's underwear.

Eugene Tan is believed to have done this at least seven times, at different units in a condominium in Sengkang, Singapore.

He was arrested on Thursday after a resident spotted him standing on a neighbour's balcony. Not convinced by his explanation, she told a security guard, who called the police.

Tan was charged in court with housebreaking and theft by night.

He was remanded for two weeks for psychiatric assessment at the Institute of Mental Health.

If convicted, he faces up to 14 years in jail.
