Woman who hid drugs in sanitary pad jailed
A woman caught at Woodlands checkpoint with drugs hidden in the sanitary pads she was wearing was jailed five years on Tuesday for illegally importing Ice.
Jobless 22-year-old Jeganthy Balakrishnan was wearing two pads when entering Singapore in a Johor-registered taxi at around midnight last Sept 8.
She pleaded guilty to importing five packets of crystalline substance containing 17.19g of methamphetamine.
The court heard that she was stopped for checks. Two bundles of drugs were found tucked into one of the pads.
She told investigators her Malaysian husband packed the drugs in Johor Baru, and that she was supposed to meet a man known only as 'Fish' at a Woodlands supermarket and give them to him in exchange for S$400 (RM928).
