Sun Yat-sen's granddaughter dies after car accident

Nora Sun, a granddaughter of Sun Yat-sen the Founding Father of Republican China has died from injuries following a car accident.She passed away at the Shin Kong Wu Ho-Su Memorial Hospital in Taiwan around 2pm on Saturday.Her family members were by her side.Sun, 72, met with an accident while heading to the Taoyuan International Airport to catch a flight to Hong Kong.A vehicle, heading in the opposite direction, hit her car which wasdriven by a friend.Sun suffered serious injuries to her chest and abdomen, resulting in multiple traumas, lacerations of the liver and internal bleeding.

Sun was a Chinese American diplomat and businesswoman.

She returned to Taiwan to attend the Taipei International Flora Expo.
