Soldiers conned in gigolo scam
Taiwan police, who were investigating a gigolo cheating scam were shocked to find over 40 military men among the victims.
The syndicate, claimed to be a gigolo-supplying company, used high pay as a ruse to lure the victims.
Selected candidates had to pay a sum of NT$200,000 (RM21,100) for a series of training including tactics to "service" the customers.
But after training, the syndicate rejected hiring the trainees, saying they had no potential.
Police found that somehad begged members of the racket togive them another chance.
One of them, an army officer, was repeatedly cheated.
Kaohsiung police have seized a list of names from the syndicate.
An army spokesman said those involved would be punished accordingly.
